"Waiting On" Wednesday #3: Tris & Izzie (and a bonus)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted at Breaking the Spine that spotlights an upcoming release that we're eagerly anticipating.

I’m kind of cheating this week by highlighting two WoW picks instead of just one because I’d already had my pick planned out, but then last night I finished Anna and the French Kiss and I just can’t wait even one more week to talk about how much I’m dying for the companion Lola and the Boy Next Door.

My first WoW pick:

Tris & Izzie
By: Mette Ivie Harrison
Publisher: EgmontUSA
Release Date: October 11, 2011

From Goodreads:

A modern retelling of the German fairytale “Tristan and Isolde, ”Tris and Izzie” is about a young witch named Izzie who is dating Mark King, the captain of the basketball team, and thinks her life is going swimmingly well. Until – she makes a love potion for her best friend Brangane and then ends up taking it herself accidentally, and falling in love with Tristan, the new guy at school.

Modern retelling of Tristan and Isolde, breathtaking cover… I just can’t wait for this one. Oh my gosh, just look at the cover! I can't get over it. It kind of makes me think of The Notebook. And I adore The Notebook.

My second pick:

Lola and the Boy Next Door
By: Stephanie Perkins
Publisher: Dutton Juvenile
Release Date: September 29, 2011

From Amazon:

For budding costume designer Lola Nolan, the more outrageous the outfit – more sparkly, more fun, more wild – the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins move back into the house next door.

When the family returns and Cricket – a gifted inventor and engineer – steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

AAAAAHHH Anna and the French Kiss was SO GOOD (review coming soon) and Stephanie Perkins is now on my automatic buy list. I’m so excited for ANYTHING she’s planning to write in the future. Hurry up September...

What is everyone else waiting on this Wednesday?
